Welcome to the USS NOSFERATU.

The USS Nosferatu is a Social/Fan club that operates out of Polk County, Florida. Not just a fan club we believe in helping out in the community with various things such as Food drives, Toy for tots, helping the homeless and much more. We also believe in treating our members as if they were our extended family helping out the best we can, where we can. Aside from that we believe in having fun, our group meets quarterly in January, April, July and October all meetings will either be through Skype or streamed via our website so out of area members can sit in, in addition our monthly newsletters are sent out by choice of either email or Snail mail. From time to time we plan outings which we call our “Away Missions”, although our club is free of dues some of the Away missions would require payment in advance to cover obvious costs, also since we are a due free club we encourage our members to please donate whatever they can to help with the cost of keeping our club an active one. Everything we do we try and keep within the central theme of things. We do accept members from out of the area and from around the world, these members are referred to as “Active Out of the Area Members” and are entitled to all of the benefits of being a member of our crew.

Our Ship has been in the area officially since October 2012. Our current members are mostly from Polk County and the UK, but there are also members from out of the state and around the world. We are from all walks of life with varying ages and backgrounds. We have all become good friends and we make more new friends at almost every activity we attend.

We encourage the philosophy of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations (IDIC) as is in Star Trek. Our ship is primarily a conduit to making friends and learning more about the interests we have in common. Many times, our family and/or (non-Trek) friends have enjoyed spending time with us at our events. We welcome families and children to our meetings and events. We seek to live in peace and foster the goodwill that may one day bring about the future that Gene Roddenberry portrayed in the Star Trek series.

We meet quarterly to share ideas, pleasant conversation, and friendship to plan activities to suit the desires of the members. As avid Star Trek and Vampire fans, we frequent conventions and exhibits. We exchange information and ideas about our favorite shows and characters. However we are also a social group interested in all activities.

Our activities include, but are not limited to games, bowling, crafts, picnics, movies, model building, hobby shows, mini-golf, traveling, tubing (water & snow), orienteering, science exhibits, amusement parks, aquariums, museums and seasonal excursions/parties. We'll try anything once. Most of our events are also kid/family-friendly.

As a social organization, the USS Nosferatu strives to help our community in whatever ways we can. Our chapter has a main charity in the Polk County area that receives the majority of our support. This charity is The Sunshine Foundation; they answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children, ages three to eighteen, whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to the financial strain that child's illness may cause.

We lend our help to any worthwhile charity that comes to our attention. Our desire is to help one another and make this small area of our planet an example of the humanity that was Gene's dream of the future. Together, we can make a difference.

The USS Nosferatu is structured to emulate a starship, including having several departments that handle specific club activities. As a member of the USS Nosferatu, you can ask to be assigned to the department of your choosing. Please carefully review the department descriptions and chose the department that best suits your individual talents and interests. The department you choose will not limit in any way the club activities you may participate in. Members of one department are always free to participate in or help out with activities run by another department.

To find more information on any individual department, simply visit the trasporter to the left of this page.

On behalf of myself and my entire crew, I wish to welcome you to the Nosferatu. If you are a new member, WELCOME ABOARD! I hope you will find your membership an enjoyable and rewarding experience. If you are a renewing crew member, thank you for continuing your voyage with us. You, the crew, are our greatest asset and we are grateful to have your talent, enthusiasm, and excitement.

For both new and renewing crew, I urge you take some time and review this web site as it explains how we
are structured and operate. It will also help you become familiar with the Nosferatu as well as inform you of the
various programs we offer for your enjoyment.

Again, thank you for your interest in the USS Nosferatu. I hope your tour is long and filled with fun. For that is what we are
here for.
